RULES VALENCIA DANZA

Art. 1: DESCRIPTION
The competition is open to dancers of all ages, nationalities and styles. The competition will take place on Saturday 12th, approximately from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Children and Under, all styles, with prize-giving) and on Sunday 13th throughout the day, approximately from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Junior and Senior, all styles, with prize-giving). At the end of each session, prizes will be awarded.
Art. 2: SECTIONS AND CATEGORIES
In all categories, repertoire pieces will also be allowed. The same people/groups may not dance more than 2 times in the same category (example: maximum 2 times as a soloist in classical + 2 times in 2-4 classical + 2 times in classical group).
COMPETITION STYLES:
- Classical Dance : Soloists / 2-4 / Group
- Contemporary : Soloists / 2-4 / Group
- Fusion Dance (Modern, Funky, Hip-Hop, Jazz) : 2-4 / Group
- Danza Española (flamenco, escuela bolera, estilizada): soloists / 2-4 / Grupworks
AGE CATEGORY (reference is made to the year of birth and not to the actual age. In the 2-4 all dancers must be of the required age, otherwise, the piece will be placed in the oldest age category. In the group, there is a tolerance of 20% of older dancers. Otherwise, the group will be placed in the oldest age category):
- Children (born in 2013 or in the following years - no solos)
- Under (born between 2011 and 2012)
- Junior (born between 2009 and 2010)
- Senior (born (in 2008 or before)
DURATION:
- Soloists: 2 minutes
- 2-4 (duos, trios and quartets): 3 minutes
- Group (minimum 5 people): 4 minutes
Art. 3: JURY AND PRIZES:
The jury will be made up of international personalities from the world of Dance, who will be published on our website. The judges cast a vote from 0 to 100, the sum of which will determine the category classification, which is given exclusively on a mathematical basis. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category, international scholarships and other gadgets. The jury reserves the right not to award some prizes if the vote is less than 60/100 or in other cases. Soloists will receive medals, while groups will receive metal plaques. In addition to the category prizes, there will be important scholarships and registrations for the following events, competitions and intensive courses:

Art. 4: REGISTRATIONS, DEADLINE AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
To participate, applicants must pre-register by sending an email to galiciadanza@gmail.com, and the organization will then reply to inform them of the availability of places along with the instructions for completing the registration before March 25, 2025. In the event that the maximum number of registered choreographies is reached, in order to respect the communicated times, the management reserves the right to close registrations early.
FEES
- Soloist: €50.
- 2-4: €100.
- Group (from 5 people and more) €20 per person.
Payment must be made in a single payment, in the name of the school/group and, in the reason for payment, specify “SCHOOL NAME – VALENCIA DANZA”. The bank codes are Bic/Swift: CAIXESBBXXX – Iban: ES87 0133 4493 3642 0000 0759, Banco de la Caixa on behalf of Asociacion Danzar en Valencia. Once paid, it will not be possible to refund the registration fee.
REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS
By email - valenciadanza@yahoo.com - before March 25, 2025:
- DOC 1 – once for each school
- DOC 2 – one form for each choreography
- MUSIC (only in MP3 format. If the music does not fit in an email, use www.wetransfer.com. It is very important to rename the audio file with: name of the school - title of the choreography).
- Receipt of payment
Deadlines: all documentation must be sent before March 25, 2025.
Art. 5: CONTEST DEVELOPMENT AND TICKETS:
IMPORTANT: Each contestant (soloist or group) must bring a USB with the music for the contest, which will be used in case the music sent is missing. To ensure the same criteria for evaluation in all choreographies, the lighting will be white lights, and rehearsals prior to the competition will not be permitted. It will not be possible to bring materials, objects or substances on stage that could damage or make the floor slippery.
TICKETS: the theatre has 600 seats. The public will be able to attend the competition by purchasing a ticket at the price of €10 for each session, with assigned numbered seats. Tickets must be reserved in advance through the reservation form, completed and sent exclusively by the school to which you belong, together with the registration, before March 25, 2025. To guarantee each dancer the possibility of having a family member, each school will be guaranteed at least one ticket for each registered dancer, but may request the option of additional tickets. On the day of the closing of the registration period, the remaining free places will be assigned to the schools that have requested additional tickets, following the chronological order of the request. The possibility of purchasing tickets on the day of the competition is not guaranteed.
Art. 6: AUTHORIZATION AND EXEMPTION FROM LIABILITY
By completing the registration form, the participant of the “Valencia Danza” event releases the organizers of the event from all liability in reference to personal objects and conflicts with third parties; declares that each participant is in good physical condition to practice dance, that minor participants have the authorization of their legal guardians and that the organizers have full authorization to freely use the images taken during the activity.
Art. 7: PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
No photos or videos are authorized. There will be professionals who will immediately sell photos.
Art. 8: CONCLUSION
The organization reserves the right to modify the event, or part of it, for unforeseen reasons, at any time: schedules, prizes, articles, categories, sections, place and activities. This information will be notified in advance.
